Main Street–Science World is a train station in Vancouver, British Columbia. It is located at 1399 Main Street. It is owned by TransLink and is used by the SkyTrain in the Metro Vancouver area for their Expo Line.

The station was built in 1985 and opened on December 11. Austrian company Architektengruppe U-Bahn built the station so that people were able to move around on transit during Expo 86.[1] Much of the track and the station was once home to the Central Park Line for the former British Columbia Electric Railway.[2] Before it became the station it is now, it was originally named Main Street station. On September 21, 1990, TransLink decided to rename the station to Main Street–Science World after the popular science museum that moved into the nearby geodesic dome called Science World.[3]

It is an elevated station, featuring 2 tracks and a centre platform. It is preceded by Stadium–Chinatown towards Waterfront and ends at Commercial–Broadway towards either King George or Production Way–University. In 2024, it was ranked at #13 of the 54 busiest stations in use for the SkyTrain.[4]

On May 18, 2014, a new stationhouse on the east of the station was opened. On February 5, 2016, the western stationhouse was renovated and upgrades included fare gates, and improvements to overall passenger safety.[5][6]

The station serves as a connection for the 3, 8, 19, 22, 23, N8, and N19 TransLink bus service.[7]

There are many attraction that are around the station. These include the Science World, the Olympic Village, False Creek, Creekside Park, Pacific Central Station, Thornton Park, Chinatown, the Downtown Skateboard Park, and the Vancouver Flea Market.
